THE AUTHOR AND HIS PREVIOUS BOOKS
TRAVEL HANDBOOK EASTERN-CANADA will be written by an accomplished Dutch author, Aad Struijk, who has already published several travel guidebooks about North America and a book about golf (see covers below, from left to right: Travelling with a Camper in the USA & Canada, Travel Handbook Colorado &
Wyoming, Travel Handbook New England, Travel Handbook Western-Canada and A Round of Golf).
All books by Aad Struijk were published by ELMAR BV, one of the leading publishers of travel information in The Netherlands, and distributed in Belgium by THE STANDARD.
Although the travel guidebooks by Aad Struijk are well suited for most type of travellers, the emphasis in his work goes to provide a wide range of practical information to the independent traveller making a roundtrip. He pays extra attention to travelling by RV's and attractive overnight accommodations such as country inn's and B&B's. Furthermore, Struijk's books are characterized by a preference for all kinds of outdoor recreation, fascinating excursions and local folklore.
The books by Aad Struijk received excellent reviews in the Dutch press. Some examples:
...Struijk's book is meant as travel handbook, but thanks to the personal tone which makes it an adventurous and, in particular an inspiring book......Struijk has been to North-America many times and each paragraph in this book creates the impression he would prefer to go back again as soon as possible. That is good: a travel-guide must radiate the wish to travel, giving you the feeling your life is not complete without having seen this part of the world......Struijk, who draws upon his personal experiences, starts with the preparations at home and then deals with literally everything a traveller should know during his travels in North-America......the travel-guide is a product of Struijk's own experiences and a true recommendation for people who are considering travelling in North-America...
